Food Trip at Mary Grace - Pre-Valentine's Day Date
Everything else that you see on the photograph above other than the plates, utensils, and a few condiments; and table wares: are underneath the glass on the table. They are custom letters, post cards, cut outs, tissues with writings, and photographs. I must admit, it's a really cool idea to do that - some restaurants have that on their walls. This one has it on the table themselves. There are some pros and cons to it, especially when taking photographs: it boils down to "I need a plain table" or "I need a table with designs".
In my case, I think it worked out pretty well on my photographs. Adds a nice touch to it, kind of feels like home. It also takes you into a trip into other person's memories and feelings.
One downside is making me realize how bad my handwriting is. Lol.
The Food
We ordered 3 things from Mary Grace Cafe's menu. One dish for my wife @haneun, one for me, and dessert (this was actually bundled with my wife's order so technically, we only ordered 2 things).
- Dory & Saffron Cream Plate
Costs 430php (around 8.60usd)
Salad: Smoked Ham with Almonds, Cranberries, and Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad
Pasta: Dory & Saffron Cream Pasta
Dessert: Dessert of the Day
- Seafood Pasta
Costs 350php (around 7usd)
A medley of fresh clams, mussels, prawns, squid and cream dory enhanced with herbs, olives and mushrooms.
And here are my photos of it, feast your eyes human!
Shoutout to @virgo27 for his blog on Flat Lay Photography. Been seeing this way before though on someone I've followed for a few years now on Tumblr and Instagram, his name is @nickastig (on Instagram).
I think I need to study food photography more. My photographs are a bit lacking on light (versus what the cafe had on their menu, you can see them on their website: http://marygracecafe.com). I'll put this in my to-do list: "How to Properly Edit Food Photos in Photoshop".
Thanks for joining me in this blog, I hope you've enjoyed the food we shared to you today. Take care!
