I Like This Takoyaki!
Takoyaki!
These snacks were great! Could use a little improvement but it beats those I usually see around the streets (cheap food carts). This one costs 119 Php, that's a little over 2 Usd. They taste good!
We ordered the 'Original' ones, I think they meant it's 'Squid'. There are other flavors too: Scallops, Ham & Cheese, etc (wasn't able to take a list - I was in a hurry)
This is how they prepare the Takoyakis:
They cook them on a special/customized iron pan with lots of spherical holes in it (half a sphere), that gives the snack its shape.
We had a lemonade to go with it, freshly squeezed with some basil leaves blended in.
The sauce they used on the Takoyakis were the deal-breaker. Haven't asked but it looks like there's Japanese mayo on it, cheese sauce, and a soy-based (or maybe oyster-based) sauce.
The place looks cool as well. They had one table where you sit down on the floor (but you have to take your shoes off), very 'Japanese' here. Sadly, I can't take a photo of it since someone else was using the space and it would be rude to just take a shot.
This little restaurant is located at the 5th floor of Market Market mall in Taguig City, Philippines. It's called Hokkaido Takoyaki.
Thanks for Dropping by!
