Would a Camera Upgrade be Worth It? Too Soon?

Read: Fujifilm X-T20 Review

Turns out I have just enough Bitcoins (I'm a poor crypto enthusiast) to upgrade and buy a camera to replace my X-A3. I'm planning to upgrade to an X-T2 but that's already too expensive for me, so I'm looking at an X-T20 instead. It's a decent upgrade over the X-A3 but I'll have to settle on buying a body-only kit. It would cost me about $850 or so (that's around Php42,000).

The plan is to buy that X-T20 body, buy a third party lens that cost less, and maybe sell the X-A3 or gift it to my wife. A third party lens seems okay cause there are manufacturers that offer lenses that are compatible with any mount on mirrorless cameras including the X-mount for Fujifilm. The lens I'm eyeing is either a Fujian or a Meike brand. Which would only cost me less than $100 (Php5,000 or less).

I've been having lot of fun with my new Fujifilm X-A3 though, as you can see on my previous post. It's just that it's an entry-level camera and I wanted something higher in the first place but it's not just about the body, it's also about the lens, and your abilities as a photographer.

I have some kind of roadmap in my mind on how I'd journey into the photography world and one step of it would be to acquire a better camera.

The only question is would I be worthy of a better one? Are my skills good enough? Or is it too soon for an upgrade?

To be fair, I really think I should practice more. The camera body I want is on sale, and like the crypto world it may go higher if the sale is up or it may go lower if merchants decide to lower the prices down. Fujifilm did release new cameras recently and they may release more, maybe we'll see an X-T30 after I purchase an X-T20 like what happened when I bought the X-A3. Yes, haha, just as soon as I bought one, the released a new model - a successor - X-A5.
